Directions
Location: Second Church in Dorchester is located in the heart of Codman Square at the corner of Washington Street and Talbot Avenue. It is the big white church with a clock tower on top right next to the park. During the week enter the building through the Moultrie Street entrance (the street on the other side of the church from Talbot) and on Sundays enter on the Talbot/Centre Street side.
From Mass. Ave.: Travel south on Mass. Ave to the intersection of Mass. Ave and Columbia Road. Take a right onto Columbia Rd. At the 7th set of lights (Columbia Rd. and Washington St) take a left onto Washington St. We’re at 600 Washington Street.
From 93 South: Take Rt. 93 South through Boston to Exit 11B (Granite Ave., Ashmont). Take the exit and at the end of the ramp, continue straight on Granite Ave. At the 2nd set of lights, take a left onto Gallivan Blvd. Proceed on Gallivan Blvd until you reach the 2nd set of lights (McDonalds on your right). At these lights, take a right onto Washington Street. Follow Washington St. for approximately one mile. We’re at 600 Washington at the intersection of Washington St and Talbot Ave.
From 93 North: Take 93 North through Milton and Quincy until you reach Exit 11 (Granite Ave.) Take the exit and at the end of the ramp, continue straight on Granite Ave. At the 2nd set of lights, take a left onto Gallivan Blvd. Proceed on Gallivan Blvd until you reach the 2nd set of lights (McDonalds on your right). At these lights, take a right onto Washington Street. Follow Washington St. for approximately one mile. We’re at 600 Washington at the intersection of Washington St and Talbot Ave.
MBTA Red Line: Take the “Ashmont” Red Line train outbound to the Shawmut “T” stop. Exit the station to the right onto Clementine St. Take a right onto Centre Street to the end and turn right at the intersection of Washington Street. The church will be right next to the park on your right.orTake the Red Line to Ashmont Station. Take the buses 22, 23 or 26 and get off at the intersection Talbot /Washington. You may also walk: exit the station and with your back to the station, turn right onto Dorchester Ave. At the first intersection, take a left onto Talbot Ave. Walk along Talbot for approximately 10 minutes and then take a right onto Washington St. We’re located at 600 Washington St. right next to the park on your right.
MBTA Bus: Take the buses 22, 23 or 26 and get off at the intersection Talbot /Washington; the building will be next to the park in the heart of the square.
MBTA Orange Line: Take the Orange Line to Ruggles Station and go downstairs. Take the 22 or 23 bus to Codman Square.
Parking: Enter the parking via Centre St – the side street off Talbot. There is also parking on the streets surrounding the church – Washington, Moultrie and Centre Streets.
